Ocean City and the surrounding areas have experienced an unprecedented Winter Snow Storm which started Wednesday evening and lasted throughout yesterday evening.
Temperatures today are only expected to get to 19 degrees with tonight's low being forecasted at 1 degree. That's pretty much the forecast throughout the weekend. We will not get a break in temperatures until Monday when we should be able to get into the mid 40's.
That means that despite best efforts in snow removal, conditions are BAD. As such, sidewalks are icy, parking lots are snow packed and drifts are everywhere. Route's 113, 90 and 50 are in bad shape along with Coastal Highway. Side Streets are almost impassable. Use extreme caution when driving or walking to and from your units.
Once the temperatures break into the 40's is when we will start to see broken pipes because of the thaw. That won't happen until Monday and going into the early part of next week.
I will be doing my best trying to coordinate response times with contractors and plumbers but realize that they too are dealing with extreme conditions. I will be inspecting properties but with hazardous road conditions, response times will be delayed.
Sincerely,
Stephan Kenny
